Case Study 1: Johnny P 

Dear Fran,

I haven't written to you in ages and I hope you haven't forgotten who I am. I did a course at your school in 2005 and am best described as small, blonde and cheeky. I just thought I drop you a quick note about what i've been up to over the last few years.

After I finished my University Degree I immediately began working as a chef. I started off at La Trompette in Chiswick and then by some minor miracle managed to bag a job at Nobu Park Lane. Nobu kindly offered to fund my training at catering college, which I attended one week a month for two years whilst working full time the other three weeks. It was an amazing experience and I learnt a huge amount but unfortunately I eventually lost my job at Nobu after falling out with the sous-chef who managed to make my life there pretty much untenable.

However, I quickly found more work at a catering company doing party's and events which allowed me to finish at college and also get some much needed management experience. After I finished at college I continued working in the catering/events world up until a few months ago.

Since then I have been pursuing an idea that a few friends and I have had for a while now, about opening up an Indian style restaurant. We are going to have a tasting party on Friday October 9th so that our friends and family can sample the menu that we have created. It would be fantastic if you could come along, and of special importance to me as you were instrumental in helping me discover my passion for food and helping me along a career path at a time in my life when I was completely at a loss about what I was going to do.

It would be great if Richard and Chris could come along as well. I hope you and the family are all well.
